Equality Begins at Home

The Orlando Anti-Discrimination Ordinance Committee is a group of concerned citizens. We have no party affiliation. The mission of OADO is to secure protection for Central Florida residents from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. Here are some of the successes we have accomplished since we formulated in the spring of 2000:

  • 2000: City of Orlando Personnel Policies
  • 2002: Chapter 57 for the City of Orlando
  • 2003: Orange County Employee Personnel Policies
  • 2004: Orange County Sheriff's Office Employee Personnel Policies
  • 2004: Orange County Sheriff's Office Profiling Policy
  • 2005: Orange County Public Schools Code of Ethics
  • 2006: Orange County Fair Housing Ordinance *
  • 2008: City of Orlando Employee Personnel Policies & Union Contracts added Domestic Partnership benefits
  • 2010: Orange County Procurement Policy *
  • 2010: Orange County Human Rights Ordinance *
  • 2011: Orange County Employee Personnel Policies added Domestic Partnership benefits *
  • 2011: Orange County Sheriff's Office Employee Personnel Policies added Domestic Partnership benefits *
  • 2011: City of Orlando Domestic Partnership Registry *

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
